As far as I know, Apple JDK 6 is installed by default on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow. They uploaded Java SE 6 version 1.6.026 available here. Solaris, Linux, and Mac OS X installations support root/superuser and non-root/standard user installations. For Windows installations, users should have Power.
